BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5302 on the tail end of a westbound unit grain train sitting in the Montana Rail Link Helena Yard. I'm not sure what was going on (I've got to get a scanner...) but between Helena and Livingston I saw 8 westbound trains all sitting in the hole with no crews. No eastbounds at all.

EDIT - I got back home today and saw a story in the paper from the 6th that there was a derailment 5 miles west of Helena that caused everything to be backed up like that. I also bought a scanner, so I know these things from now on...

I do love the colors on this train.
Makes me think of riding off to exotic unknown places on the Orient Express...though I'm sure they are not anything alike.

It's a very interesting angle of the train.

scanners are worth the investment.... I have one that's about 15 years old... just listening to the hot-box detectors can tell you a lot and listening to the crews takes a lot of the boredom out of waiting by the tracks.
