I went to the Malmstrom Air Force Base Open House on Saturday May 17, 2008. Saw a lot of cool stuff. Took a LOT of shots and ended up with almost 200 usable shots. Don't know that I'll ever post them all here on dA, but it gives me a nice backlog of shots for dry times.
One of the most interesting and exciting demonstrations during the open house was the Convoy/Tactical Response Force Demonstration. A simulated convoy escorting a high-ranking dignitary in hostile territory was assaulted by heavily armed insurgents and pinned down. While pinned, two UH-1N Huey choppers came in and touched down, dropping off ground troops and snipers to come to the aid of the convoy. Gave me a real sense for what sort of training these men and women go through. This demonstration was better than any action movie you could ever watch.
After the demonstration is over, several of the participants gather for a group photo and then for individual photo ops with the visiting public. On the left, a sniper in a ghillie suit empties rounds from his sniper rifle.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
