Another of the storm clouds that built off to the east yesterday. This one had a small lenticular cloud above it when I first saw it, but by the time I got ready for the shot the lenticular had been absorbed into the growing cumulus.

It's a spectacular cloud formation. Love the light shining on it, the haze below it & the change of mood as you focus into the shadowed landscape.

That lenticular cloud you mentioned is easy for me to picture as I have seen the same. Storm clouds grow really tall, really fast and the weather at ground level may be hot and humid. The top of the cloud is below freezing and these icy caps of clouds seem to sit not too far from the top of the main cloud. Though they seem to disintergrate due to the storm breaking through it.
