Description

A westbound BNSF unit coal train near Austin, MT begins the climb up the grade to Mullan Pass on June 10, 2008. The units on this train are BNSF SD70MAC 9754, BNSF ES44AC 6078, MRL SD70ACe 4313 & MRL SD70ACe 4300. There were also four more more MRL SD70ACes in the middle of the train and two more BNSF "Big Macs" on the rear.

As everyone else mentioned, that is some serious power. :smoking:  So...figuring off-the-cuff with ten engines at around 3,500 to 5,000 HP each, that puts us in the neighborhood of 50,000 HP.  ;)   *whistles  

Here in Michigan, we don't see trains remotely close to consists like this.
