Near the Great Falls of the Missouri
It's time for my monthly train features! Photos and/or artwork of trains or other railroad-related subjects from the great deviants here on dA.
Here they are, in no particular order:

If I've faved one of your train shots and you aren't on this list, it's not an intentional slight. There's so many good train shots here on dA to choose from and my monthly list can only be so long. I'll get to your shots eventually!

Streaming Video Games
Hey folks, I've started streaming video games on Twitch! I stream 6 days a week, several different games per day. I'd love it if you followed me on Twitch (trying to get to 50 followers so I can make Affiliate). Twitch.tv/hunter1828
I've also set up a Patreon where my Patrons get to pick what games I stream, and at higher levels can game with me, or have me run a tabletop D&D game for them. Check it out at Patreon.com/robertwthomson
Games I'm currently streaming: Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Horizon Zero Dawn, Fallout 4, Skyrim Special Edition, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Strange Brigade, and Train Simulator 2019.
Devious Journal Entry
Wow. Been a long time since my last journal, and a lot has happened. Some of you I'm friends with on Facebook (hit me up if we aren't yet!) and know the ins and outs. For those that don't, well here's the short version. I'm no longer working outside the house because of a combination of my mental and physical health. Before even reaching 49, my body has failed me and my mind wants to fail me. Beyond that, I recently had my external HD fry itself somehow and I lost.. everything. All my train photos. All Dad's photos that I had scanned. Family photos. Artwork I commissioned. Artwork I saved for writing inspiration. Short stories. All of my gami
dA vs. flickr - or, why I spend more time there.
People wonder why I don't spend much time on deviantART anymore - this should help answer that question. A photo I uploaded to dA over a week ago has a whopping 5 views and 1 fave. A photo I uploaded to flickr yesterday has 251 views and 9 faves.
Or, to put it another way, my photo with the most faves on dA is one I uploaded 7 years ago last month and has 5,277 views in 7 years; my photo with the most faves on flickr is one uploaded 7 years ago next month and has 11,477 views.
Now, granted, I belong to far more groups on flickr than I do on dA, but flickr makes it far, far, far easier and more intuitive to add photos to groups, and I get fa
Mortality Awareness
Let me preface this by saying that I am ok.
Last night, I had a scary incident. Miles, Connie, and I were getting ready to watch Despicable Me 2. It was just on the Blu-Ray menu, which itself was highly entertaining, and I started to laugh at something when I apparently had a bronchial spasm. My lungs completely ceased up for several seconds. There was no gasping for air - instead, there quite simply was no air at all.
I remember starting to laugh. The next thing I know I'm on the floor with Connie and Miles holding me in a sitting position and asking if I can hear them. I passed out and was completely out for several seconds. As soon as I
